A 150-seat auditorium within the center for contemporary art provides a forum for stimulating a broad spectrum of cultural interests via publicly and privately hosted events. Located adjacent to the exhibition galleries, the auditorium is equipped to serve a variety of educational and cultural programs, including lectures, symposia, film, music, dance, and more — including broadcast sports. The center will create mutually beneficial partnerships with numerous educational and cultural organizations, such as schools, museums, theatre and dance companies, music workshops, and community groups, amplifying the overall depth and vitality of Louisville’s arts organizations.

The auditorium also will support rotating exhibitions on view at the center for contemporary art by presenting relevant performers and speakers -- programs designed to illuminate and enlarge our perspectives on art today. A separate large, multi-purpose education space located near the auditorium will allow the art center to develop curricula that expand on programs and events presented in the auditorium and galleries.
